Food Scrap Recycling Program

How to Recycle Food Scraps in Nyack

Recycling food scraps is easy! Just follow these simple steps:

Collect food scraps in a small bin on your countertop or under the sink. Line the bin with Rockland Green’s compostable brown bags. Bags are available at Nyack Village Hall and Nyack Library during working hours.

Transfer the bagged food scraps from your small bin into a larger white or green bin, and store them until you’re ready to drop them off.

Drop Off your bagged food scraps at Nyack’s Food Scrap Drop-off Site, located at 63 Catherine Street, Nyack, NY. Located adjacent to the gates at the front of the building.

Please Note: Only food scraps in Rockland Green’s compostable brown bags will be accepted.

The collected materials will be transported to Rockland Green’s Co-Composting facility in Hillburn, NY, where they will be processed into nutrient-rich compost. More information about Rockland Green's Food Scrap Program.
