Happy Labor Day from the Village of Nyack!

As we approach Labor Day, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all of you. Enjoy the long weekend with family and friends, and take a moment to relax and recharge.

Village Hall and Nyack DPW are closed on Monday, September 2, 2024 in observance of the holiday. Trash will be collected on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Parking is free on all Federal Holidays, all other parking regulations remain in effect.

As the new school year approaches, we would like to remind everyone to exercise extra caution while driving through our village. Nyack Schools reopen on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 and increased pedestrian activity is expected around school zones.

Please adhere to the following safety guidelines:

• Observe Speed Limits: Maintain posted speed limits, especially in school zones where speed limits may be reduced.
• Watch for Pedestrians: Be vigilant for children crossing the street, especially near schools and crosswalks.
• Follow School Bus Laws: Stop for school buses that are picking up or dropping off children. This includes when the bus has its stop sign extended.
• Avoid Distractions: Stay focused on the road and avoid distractions such as mobile phones.
