Dear Residents,

As we embrace the beautiful fall season, it's time to prepare for our annual leaf pickup program.

As a reminder, leaf pickup occurs weekly throughout our village, but not on garbage days (Monday and Thursday).

While we do not have a fixed schedule, our leaf collection crews will be actively working in all neighborhoods each week.

To ensure a smooth collection process, please keep the following in mind:

Safety Guidelines

To ensure the safety of our crew and residents, we ask that you follow these important guidelines:

  1. Bagging Leaves: Please bag your leaves in biodegradable bags or use bins. NO plastic bags will be collected.

  2. Avoid Blocking Roadways: Ensure that leaf bags or piles are placed at least three feet from the curb to avoid obstructing roadways and sidewalks.

  3. No Other Waste: Please refrain from placing branches, grass clippings, or any other debris in with your leaves. Only leaves will be collected!

  4. Stay Clear During Pickup: For your safety, please keep a safe distance from the collection vehicle while pickups are in progress.

  5. No Gas Powered Leaf Blowers are permitted in the Village of Nyack. Electric Blowers are acceptable. Learn more about the Leaf Blower Law here.
