Mayor's Message:

It's going to be a snowy week, with some snow this past weekend and more forecast for the middle of the week. Our thanks to all the fine folks at our Department of Public Works for the excellent job they did getting our roads open early Sunday morning, and further thanks to all the residents who complied with the Snow Emergency and moved their cars off the affected roads to clear them for the plows and first responders. Keep a lookout for what will probably be another Snow Emergency alert mid-week.

We also wanted to thank the Rockland County Department of Economic Development & Tourism, who came to the Angel Nyack this past week to announce $316,000 in tourism grants to the county, including grants to Nyack groups such as Visit Nyack, The Angel, Rockland Fashion Week, Rockland Pride Center, Phoenix Theater Ensemble, RCC Hospitality and Culinary Arts, ArtsRock, and the Hopper House. It was a pleasure seeing Director Jenna Nazario and County Executive Ed Day at the event.

Speaking of tourism grants, at this Thursday's Village Board meeting, we will be reviewing recommendations from the Nyack Business Council for up to $50,000 of grants for Nyack-related tourism. The Village Board meeting is at 7:30PM in Village Hall and will be live streamed on Village of Nyack YouTube Channel.

Have a great week and stay warm!

Memorial Park Shoreline Pathway Project Advisory Committee - Volunteers Needed!

The Village of Nyack is excited to announce that we have received a grant from the New York State Department of State to enhance the shoreline at Memorial Park. With a project budget of $550,000 funded by both the state and the village, we are looking for dedicated volunteers to join an advisory committee that will work closely with engineers and landscape architects to shape the future of this project.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of Nyack's most treasured asset—public access to the majestic Hudson River for both residents and visitors. If you're passionate about preserving and enhancing our waterfront, we encourage you to get involved!

To express your interest in joining the committee, please email us at administrator@nyack.gov. Be sure to include relevant background information that you can bring to the project. Committee members will be submitted to the New York State Department of State for final approval.

We look forward to your participation in this exciting community project!
