Local Government Response to COVID-19

The Village of Nyack continues to closely monitor the evolving response to COVID 19.

The Village expects that there will be required changes to the way the Village performs its day to day business in order to best protect our residents, our employees, and most importantly, our most vulnerable neighbors.

Specifically, in the interests of public safety, the Village is considering having Village Hall open to staff members only for a limited period of time, so as to minimize the chance that Village operations would cease in the event of numerous cases of COVID 19 among staff members. The Village simply does not have the staff to keep Village Hall open in the event that multiple staff members fall ill. If the Village decides to do so:

1. All Village Offices would remain open to do business on behalf of the public.

2. All Village Departments would be reachable by phone or email, with the goal of responding to all inquiries during the same business day.

3. Public Hearings would be postponed until such time as public safety concerns have been satisfied.
