O&R GAS MAIN WORK TO BEGIN May 11, 2020

Essential infrastructure work by O&R will begin next week. O&R plans to replace aging gas mains beginning on Monday 5/11/20 starting on Upper Depew Avenue and continuing east down to Jewett Place and Dickinson Ave, including Bache St. This work is anticipated to last until the end of May or early June.

Following the gas main replacement in this area, O&R will be mobilizing to the second phase of the project as follows: Prospect St to replace the gas main beginning at Depew Ave and ending just south of the Hudson St intersection. Work continues on S. Mill St/Depew Ave intersection and heads south to Hudson Ave.

O&R does not plan to enter into any homes at this point until the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. Individual service lines will be dealt with in the future. Residents in the areas under construction will have access to their homes and will be notified directly by O&R.

All of the work planned by O&R is in coordination with the Village of Nyack's water main replacement project which is scheduled to begin in the next few months. Once the gas and water main work is completed, the intention is to repave the streets as quickly as possible. There may be a period of waiting to allow the roads to settle from the construction.
