As this summer comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strength of our Village in the face of unprecedented challenges. We have weathered the health crisis of our generation, as Montefiore Nyack Hospital is witnessing record low COVID-19 patients since the start of the pandemic. In June, our community came together against racial injustice, as the "Black Lives Matter" mural on our Main Street served as a testament to Nyack's commitment to equality and social justice. Tropical Storm Isaias threw us a punch in August, knocked down trees and power lines, but still, Nyack weathered the storm. Some of the small businesses of Nyack are not only returning, but are thriving in the face of adversity. We are deeply saddened by the closing of a number of our local businesses. We will continue to work with our business community to support them as we are able. This month, we welcome three new businesses to Nyack: "Abigail Rose & Lily Too" on South Broadway, Main Street says hello to "Crossroads" for home decor and "The Henry" a gastropub named for Henry Hudson! - opening soon! I urge all residents, where possible, to shop local and support our beautiful Village. #NyackStrong is #NyackSafe - Mayor Don Hammond All are welcome to join the Mayor's Weekly Communication Meeting on ZOOM every Thursday Morning at 9am Meeting ID: 248 119 4686 Parking Enforcement Parking Fees and Enforcement will be back in effect starting September 1, 2020.
