As this summer comes to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strength of our Village in the face of unprecedented challenges. We have weathered the health crisis of our generation, as Montefiore Nyack Hospital is witnessing record low COVID-19 patients since the start of the pandemic.

In June, our community came together against racial injustice, as the "Black Lives Matter" mural on our Main Street served as a testament to Nyack's commitment to equality and social justice.

Tropical Storm Isaias threw us a punch in August, knocked down trees and power lines, but still, Nyack weathered the storm.

Over the past few months, it has been a privilege to oversee our Village's reopening. This has not been an easy process but I am very proud of our local merchants and their efforts to respond to very difficult and changing circumstances.

Some of the small businesses of Nyack are not only returning, but are thriving in the face of adversity. We are deeply saddened by the closing of a number of our local businesses.

We will continue to work with our business community to support them as we are able. This month, we welcome three new businesses to Nyack: "Abigail Rose & Lily Too" on South Broadway, Main Street says hello to "Crossroads" for home decor and "The Henry" a gastropub named for Henry Hudson! - opening soon! I urge all residents, where possible, to shop local and support our beautiful Village.

As we enter the Fall, I cannot help but feel overwhelmed by how much has transpired. Our ability to rise to the occasion has me optimistic for our future. Nyack continues to be an exemplary community in the Hudson Valley, and throughout New York State. As our schools prepare to resume, and our community continues it's recovery, let us strive to be that example for excellence.

Parking Enforcement
Returns on September 1, 2020

Parking Fees and Enforcement will be back in effect starting September 1, 2020. There's a few changes to our Parking Regulations to help make Parking Simple and Contactless for residents and visitors. Here's the highlights:

• Parking Fees in effect from 10am - 7pm Monday to Saturday.

• Sundays & Holidays - parking is always free.

• Main St. & Franklin St., Broadway, & Midland Ave., 3 hour time limit.

• Long term metered parking is available in the Village Lots on Artopee Way - in addition to sections of Hudson Ave, Remsen St., lower Depew Ave.

• ParkMobile is our new parking app - download the free app for Parking made Simple and Contactless.

• "Free 15" minutes available at the Munimeters only - limited to twice a day per vehicle.
