Overview:

Artic air moves in tonight, Saturday, January 15, 2022. Then a strong coastal storm will affect the region Sunday evening into Monday morning bringing:

• Potential for moderate to locally major coastal impacts
• Heavy precipitation (snow and rain)
• Strong to possibly damaging winds
• Gale to Storm conditions and high waves on all nearshore waters

Parking Lots Available

Village lots on Main Street and at the Nyack Marina are available Sunday overnight until the storm has passed.

Please help our DPW crews to safely plow and salt the roads by moving cars into driveways or lots if possible.

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday

Village Hall and DPW are closed on Monday, January 17, 2022 in observance of the holiday. However, our DPW is prepped and ready to respond to any storm related work.

Village Hall Update

Village Hall reopens on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 9 - 5pm. Masks are MANDATORY for entrance into Village Hall! Masks are available in the vestibule, no one will receive assistance without a mask! Please help keep our staff safe.

Home Prep Checklist

• Don't get caught in the dark. Have a lights-out kit that's well stocked and handy. Be sure to include flashlights, fresh batteries, and a battery-operated radio or TV so that you can tune to local stations for updates.
• Take charge. Make sure your cell phone and other electronic devices are fully charged. You may also want to pick up a portable charger to give batteries a boost when the power’s out.
• Keep it cool. Turn your freezer and refrigerator to the coldest setting. It will help keep food cool longer if the power goes out.
• Watch your water. Stock up on bottled water, and fill up your bathtub and spare containers.
• Plug protection. Be sure to protect major appliances, computers, and other electronically sensitive equipment by either unplugging them or using a surge protector.
• Fill 'er up. Fill your car's gas tank ahead of time.
