🚒❗️NYACK CHIEF’S INSPECTION PARADE: SATURDAY OCTOBER 8TH❗️🚒
On behalf of the Nyack Fire Department, we would like to share information regarding the upcoming Chief’s Inspection Parade on Saturday, October 8th.
This is a long-standing tradition held every two years to honor the current sitting Chief of the Department – currently Chief Dana Mickle. We will be hosting over 30 fire departments from across the county and beyond. Please see the following important information to note regarding the parade and associated street closures the day of the parade:
Parade Line-Up is at 1 pm in Upper Nyack; Step-Off is at 2 pm.
The parade route will start on Midland Avenue in Upper Nyack – heading south on Midland to Main Street. It will then turn east on Main Street and continue down to Broadway, where it will turn south on Broadway, ending at Cedar Hill Avenue and Broadway in South Nyack. Access in and out of Nyack will be limited and street closures will start at approximately 2 pm and reopen at approximately 4:30 pm.
No cross traffic will be allowed on Midland, Main Street and South Broadway. Streets will reopen once the parade passes through. There will be no parking in downtown Nyack on Main Street and Broadway from 1 pm to 5 pm.
A trophy ceremony will be held at 7:00 pm at the Central Station (home to Fire Patrol & Jackson Engine on Park Street). Park Street will be closed from noon to 10 pm that day.
Please join us in support of our volunteers at this important event in our community.
