Welcome to the Village of Nyack Water Commission page. Nyack Water Department is a self-supporting public benefit entity dedicated to providing our community with safe and reliable water services. Operating without taxing powers, our department is overseen by five Water Commissioners, who are appointed by the Mayor for staggered five-year terms.
Our revenue solely comes from the sale of water, ensuring that we remain a nonprofit organization. All funds generated are reinvested into operating expenses, debt management, and necessary construction projects.
The Water Department was established to serve the Village of Nyack and its surrounding areas, ensuring a consistent and abundant water supply. Our Water Treatment Plant is located in West Nyack, NY 10994, and our business office can be found at 9 North Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960.
We source our water from the Hackensack River, which originates at the Lake Deforest Reservoir, located just one mile north of our treatment facility. This reservoir has a substantial capacity of five billion gallons and plays a crucial role in maintaining stream flow during periods of drought.
We are committed to serving the Village of Nyack with the highest standards of water quality and customer service.
